First Official Partner
When the original Utah Goldback series was completed the plan was to perhaps not do any additional States. The team was a bit overwhelmed by how popular Goldbacks turned out to be and just how much interest there was to make more of them. One of the early investors in Goldback was Mark Voelker. He advocated strongly for Nevada to be the second series and he staked some of his own money on the project. The people of Nevada can thank him for getting this series going.
Libertas, or Liberty, the capstone Virtue design of each U.S. based Goldback series, makes her second appearance here under a starry Nevada night sky. Fortitudine, or Fortitude, is the third, and final new virtue that debuts in the Nevada Goldback Series. She is patterned after Nike, the greek winged goddess of Victory. A driving theme for this piece is “Fortitude brings Victory over Vice”, as can be seen illustrated with the bobcat pouncing on a “land crocodile”, the tortoise. […]
